This whole Claypipe bandcamp archive project came about when Clay Ruby wrote to us asking if we had a copy of the spilt tape we had done with him way back in 2006 because he had lost his but wanted a copy of the audio for a project he was working on. It turned out neither of us had one here in NZ either and so the word was put out online for anybody who might have one of the tapes.
A few days later I was sent a copy and duly digitised Clays side but also took the opportunity to reacquaint Clayton and myself with our side. As Clayton remembers it the track Sombrdos was recorded as a kind of tribute to The Reynols. Figure 8 is a song perhaps indicative of where we were to head on the LPs of the 2010's. The running time was 15 minutes per side on the cassette and so I have added a couple of sympathetic compilation only tracks from Root Don Lonie cdrs to this digital version.
